Double Yellow Lines in Chesildene Drive

UPDATE - 6th July 2011

The double yellow lines in Landford Way and Sway Gardens are now there, so now this junction is much safer. The residents have waited several months for this to be completed!!

RE: Chesildene drive double yellow lines

Dear Councillor Mrs Rey,

The Decision Notice has passed through the 'call-in' period successfully so we shall be placing orders with our Contractors in the next few weeks. There is something in the order of three dozen sites to address so we cannot give any precise implementation date, especially as these jobs are weather dependant, but would expect the bulk of the work top be complete within four weeks of ordering.

John Newman

Dear Councillor Mrs Rey,

Thank you for your attached e-mail on the above subject.

I understand that the associated Decision Notice has recently been awaiting the Call-In period to expire.

I will however get Mr Newman to contact you direct to advise you when the Yellow lines are to be implemented on site.

Yours sincerely,

Chesildene drive double yellow lines

Dear Mr Duncan and Mike,

It is now several weeks since the public consultation re: the double yellow lines just past the roundabout at Yeomans Road. As far as the residents near to where I live only 2 wish to leave the road as it is, when is the work going to start?

Many thanks best wishes,

Councillor Anne Rey

RE: Double Yellow lines in Chesildene Drive

There will be a month of consultation from the 18th December 2009 regarding the implementation of double yellow lines in the small gap after the Yeomans Road Roundabout in CHESILDENE DRIVE and the immediate local residents will be receiving a letter from Councillor Anne Rey on behalf of the three Ward members informing the residents of this information.

The works will be carried out around March 2010.

RE: Double Yellow lines in Chesildene Drive

Dear Resident,

Further to my letter in August '09 when I asked for feedback regarding the issue of double yellow lines in Chesildene Drive just past the Yeomans Roundabout and the situation back then of the white transit vans being parked there on a daily basis and causing a potential danger to motorists.

You will be aware that we have successfully moved these vehicles from Chesildene Drive and I asked you on behalf of the three Ward members whether you agree that permanent double yellow lines should be put on this gap. I suggested that you only contact me if you disagree with this suggestion and that the majority view would be reported back to the relevant Council officers.

Three residents contacted me who wanted to keep the road as it is now with the gap for hopefully small vehicles to park there and so not obstruct any view for motorists. I have informed Mr John Satchwell the Council's road safety manager and he will be making arrangements to now advertise the proposal for this new traffic road order.

There will be signs erected on the lamp posts in Chesildene Drive and you will be able to reply if you so wish directly to the Council.

Many thanks for your attention to this matter, your three Councillors are always here to work on behalf of the Throop and Muscliff Ward.

Best Wishes

Councillor Anne Rey
