Castle Lane West - Traffic Management

Dear Councillors,

Please find enclosed a copy of the letter which is being posted to residents along Castle Lane West and surrounding roads today.

It outlines the planned closure of Castle Lane West between Broadway roundabout and East Way during three evenings next week. This is to enable the final section of road carriageway replacement as part of the improvements along Castle Lane West to be carried out safely.

Diversions will be in place along Charminster Road and East Way.

Regards,
Dave Parke,
Senior Engineer, Planning, Transport and Regulation Services, Bournemouth Council

RE: Castle Lane West - Traffic Management

David.

Here we go again. Need you say to narrow both traffic lanes for some five weeks, the PLAN was in view of the closure of New road which is causing real traffic problems along Wimborne road to Bear cross and same in opposite direction, Castle Lane West was suppose to be KEPT FREE FLOWING until works on New road were complete, this news is just what motorists don't wish to hear, talk of encouraging more people to walk /cycle is sheer utter nonsense when one in majority of cases need their car for work related reasons and yes those who are attending the hospital for daily treatments when no way could they travel by bus, these whole works have caused nothing but anger and frustration to many who have to use Castle lane West.

Castle Lane West - Traffic Management

Dear all,

Please find enclosed a letter which is due to be sent out via royal mail this evening to all residents affected by the planned Traffic Management proposals along Castle Lane West.

The Traffic Management is required for safety reasons to allow the Contractor to construct the cycle lane on the south side of Castle Lane West. This will affect residents between Broadway Roundabout and Castle Gate Close and will be in operation for the next 5 weeks.

Regards,
Dave Parke,
Senior Engineer, Planning, Transport and Regulation Services, Bournemouth Council
