Ian/Michael.

On behalf of my colleague Cllr Anne I have taken photos of the carriageway repairs of Broadway Lane / Muscliffe Lane and Shillingstone Drive taken last week 29th May for the four days of works, we are very pleased at the way the contractors worked on site, taken just four days to complete including Saturday 1st June ensuring all the appropriate markings were in place outside Epiphany Primary for the return of School this week.

Just one photo taken in Muscliffe lane showing the location of the pedestrian crossing, which in the road safety audit report [feature 5], make reference to "inconsistent information on location of pedestrian crossing", this with the recommendation to "Install bollards on the south-east side of the carriageway". Issue that I have as you know already made to Mr Satchwell, which the reply being "we do not propose to install additional bollards adjacent to the crossing facility in response to the safety audit".

Having under taken this totally independent report I just find it incredible that the findings are being carried forward. Same time trust that the colour buff surface will be in place soon at this crossing, again the issue of additional reflective strips as again recommended by the report on the build-outs page 10 makes reference to "without adequate awareness of such features road users may over run kerb lines or fail to identify pedestrian crossings".

All these issues I address further to Mr Satchwell in my email of 29th.

Finally with the 10 or so recommendations made, how many will be taken forward.
